Lexus UX Concept

The compact SUV of the future now has a visual concept. The Lexus UX Concept was unveiled to the world at the 2016 Paris Motor Show to an awestruck audience. With a personality all its own, the UX embodies the futuristic thinking that Lexus is becoming known for.

While attempting to create a strong synergy between interior and exterior design, engineers at the Lexus ED2 European Design Centre have developed an SUV with a fully immersive driving experience. Using 3D Human Machine Interface (HMI) technology, the Lexus UX produces cockpit ergonomics unlike anything on the road.

The interior of the four-seat Lexus UX crossover features a futuristic design that will certainly appeal to urbanites. Using an inside-out design concept, the exterior and interior flow together smoothly. From its wildly innovative Kinetic Seat Concept to deconstructed dashboard, this is a vehicle that lovers of the cutting-edge will be enamored with.

The latest in advanced vehicle technology is also on display with the Lexus UX. From electro-chromatic windows to electrostatic switchgear, the UX is far more advanced than anything currently on the road. E-mirror camera housings replace the door mirrors and images are displayed on the internal screens. Your front seat passenger can also experience this technology as they’ll have a separate track-pad display control on their door armrest and a demountable sound bar on their side of the dash.

Looking at the UX from the outside, it once again is unlike anything on the road. A highly fluid sculptural design is highlighted by the next generation of the Lexus spindle grille that takes on a 3D look. The inner skeleton of the vehicle is visible as much of the vehicle is finished in the same material, creating an continuous bone structure. L-shaped Daytime Running Lights, which are usually placed below the headlight, are positioned to pierce the main lamps, while the taillights are designed to take on a more 3D feel.

While we don’t know whether the UX Concept will be put into production any time soon, we’re hopeful that glowing reviews of this futuristic SUV will be enough to push it to North American markets.
