Lexus RC F GT3 Wraps Up its Debut Season of the IMSA GT Championship

For the first time in the brand's history, the Lexus RC F GT3 has completed a season as a part of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. While its debut season didn't end with a trip to the podium, the pair of GT3-class models that were entered gained plenty of experience and reputation among some the top endurance drivers in the world - ending with both an eighth and ninth place finish for the two Lexus cars from 3GT Racing.

Racer Scott Pruett was quoted as saying, “We were hopeful to finish on the podium. We ran strong – both the 14 and 15. We had our issues and we had our problems – first, I’m so glad Robert (Alon) is okay after that crash. And, unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. It was just one of those seasons that you’ve just got to realize it’s a building season, we learned a lot from 2017 and we have a lot of momentum going into 2018.”

With the next IMSA season already just over two months away, 3GT Racing has some time to reconfigure and prepare for an upcoming year of long, challenging races. Our staff members at Jim Falk Lexus of Beverly Hills will be keeping an eye on their performances once their sophomore season finally begins. Be sure to stay up-to-date with our staff at 9001 West Olympic Blvd!
